Temple University Leadership Experience

As a first generation college student, I couldn’t have imagined a more transformative four years at an institution. My experience as a Temple owl was enriching, humbling and educational. It paved the way for me to discover my passion for empowering others through development and creativity, and introduced me to a network of diverse mentors and connections I plan to nurture moving forward. I am forever indebted to this institution for pushing me to take initiative in all aspects of my life. Learn more about my experience below!

Orientation Leader

Representing Temple University as an Owl Team Leader ignited my passion for student leadership. Over the course of two summers, I supported + guided over 1,000 students + their families through their transition into college through mentorship, training + interpersonal communication.

Resident Assistant

As an RA, I had the opportunity to facilitate + foster a sense of community for 30 freshman students. I designed + implemented experiences to enhance their personal + professional development. My passion for the role earned me the humbling distinction of New Resident Assistant of the Year!

Career Ambassador

Working at the university’s Career Center for 4 years allowed me to support thousands of students with professional development. From leading resume + cover letter workshops, to supporting career fairs, to overseeing the process of taking LinkedIn headshots, I owe a lot of my training + development experience to this role.

Recognitions + Awards

New Resident Assistant of the Year 2019

I was presented with this recognition at the conclusion of my first year as a Resident Assistant at Temple. The award is designed to recognize the outstanding service of an RA + is presented to someone who has gone above + beyond in the crucial role of enriching the experiences of students in the community.

Emerald Endowment Scholarship 2017

Distributed by the Kappa Phi Gamma Sorority, this scholarship seeks to award a well-rounded female student who has demonstrated excellence in scholarship, leadership + service on Temple’s campus. I was selected for this honor based on a series of essays I wrote outlining my leadership experience, career goals + financial situation.

Diamond Award 2019

The most humbling award I was honored with during my college experience was the Diamond Award. It is known as the highest recognition given to an undergraduate student by Student Affairs, honoring students who have demonstrated superior leadership, academic achievement, service to the University + impact on a community. I was recognized at the Annual Diamond Award Ceremony for setting myself apart from others through my leadership.

Scholar Abroad Scholarship 2017

Distributed by the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, I was selected for this distinction based on an essay submission outlining my goals + intentions for a study abroad experience.

Martha Menei Endowment Scholarship 2017

I was honored with this competitive distinction based on a holistic review of my leadership experience, academic excellence, essay submissions + passion for the Media + Communication industry.

Inspire Integrity Award 2017

This Award prompted applicants to submit an essay outlining a faculty member that has made a significant impact on me + other students. I nominated Eric Goins, my supervisor during my Orientation Leader experience, who received a professional development award, while I received a scholarship.

Most Likely to be CEO of a Fortune 500 Company

My superlative selected by my sisters during my senior year at Delta Phi Epsilon sorority.
